Less emissions more driving pleasure, this is the result of the development philosophy BMW EfficientDynamics, which includes all innovations to reduce fuel consumption and emissions compared to the previous model, and at the same time to enhance their performance on the road, taking them to a even higher level. From 1995 to 2008 the BMW Group reduced the average fuel consumption of its cars sold in Europe by a total of more than 25 per cent, thus outperforming the self-commitment made by the European Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA) for its brands.
Chevrolet is the fourth biggest car brand and General Motors' largest global brand, with annual sales of about 3.5 million vehicles in more than 130 countries. Chevrolet delivers attractive, distinctive and highly performing vehicles, as a result from the experience in racing, that is functional and instrumental in the products' development.
Chevrolet strategy for environmental sustainability is aimed at ensuring zero emissions together with efficiency and reliability. In Italy was the first to believe in GPL and develop it on the full range.
Chevrolet will celebrate the 100 year anniversary with the launch of the Volt, the extended range electric vehicle, whose production will start for Europe in November 2011. The Volt stands up from other electric or hybrid vehicles because electricity is the primary energy source. The Volt's extended range up to 500 km, minimized operating costs and zero CO2 emissions are the evidence of the important targets achieved by Chevrolet in the innovative and environmentally friendly strategy.

Looking ahead to year 2020, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the company, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has recently announced the “Mitsubishi Motors Group Environmental Vision 2020” roadmap for its near-future environmental policy that maximizes the benefits offered by the EV* to Leading the EV era, towards a sustainable future.” *EV: Electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, and other electric-powered vehicles. The new environmental roadmap directs Mitsubishi Motors’ commitment to the development of technology – spearheaded by EV technology – and to reducing the environmental impact of its business activities in general. As it points the Mitsubishi Motors group toward working with its customers and society at large in creating a pleasing and low-carbon society, the Environmental
Vision 2020 also embodies the company’s recently announced “Drive@earth” corporate tagline.
To achieve the MMC Group Environmental Vision 2020 roadmap’s goals and targets Mitsubishi Motors will focus its resources in a 3-pronged approach focused on “Product & Technology,” “Corporate Activities” and “Cooperation with Society”.
Nissan has launched the "Green Program 2010" to achieve the company’s environmental philosophy: symbiosis of people, vehicles and nature for human-scale mobility. To develop truly eco-compatible vehicles, Nissan is adopting parallel efforts to improve current technologies and find solutions for the future of mobility. In essence, by 2010, Nissan endeavours to reduce emissions from CO2 and corporate activities and implement a resource recycling plan. In keeping with the Green Program, Nissan’s main aim is to become the world’s leading zero-emission car manufacturer. To this end, in 2010, Nissan will begin marketing a range of electric vehicles worldwide. Nissan will at the same time continue to pursue its research in the field of hybrid and fuel-cell vehicles.

Production: in line with our environmental efforts, Porsche wastes nothing that is used in vehicle production, whether it is water, energy or raw materials. During engine manufacturing, all swarf is made into briquettes and completely recycled. The first major engine tests are performed cold, so no petrol is consumed. Just a few examples of how green our production processes are.
Meeting the Green challenge: over the past 15 years, Porsche has succeeded in reducing average fuel consumption – and consequently CO2 emissions – by 1.7 per cent annually. The current debate on climate change and the greenhouse effect indicates that we are taking the right action. We take our responsibilities seriously and continue to look to the future.
