FORMULA ATA - Electric and Hybrid Italy

Fotogallery From today until 9th October the Research Centre of ENEA hosts the 5th edition of “FORMULA ATA – Electric and Hybrid Italy (ATA, Automobile Technic Association) on a testing track put up inside the campus close to the laboratories overlooking the Via Anguillarese (Capanna area).

It is a car race for battery, hybrid and FC vehicles developed by university and high school students.

Originated in 2005, Formula Electric and Hybrid Italy (EHI) was designed by ATA with the purpose of highlighting the innovations developed in the universities all over the world in the sector of sustainable mobility. It aims at encouraging students and engineering graduates to take part in the event by showing their own innovations developed to reduce car mobility’s environmental impact. The event is also an opportunity to bridge the gap between the academic world and the industrial one.

This year the event will involve Italian universities and foreign ones such as the Polytechnic University of Zurich, Drexel University, Linkoping, Brussels and Thapar Universities. Among the Italian universities there will be the ones in Rome, Padua and Pisa Universities as well as the Polytechnic University of Turin, showing 10 vehicles and 4 projects.

For the first time the races, which are free, are held in central Italy, to be exact, in an area north of the capital.

RACE PROGRAMME

7 October

- Range and Energy efficiency Races, from 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm

8th October

-Autocross Races from 9.30 am to 11.30 am, Acceleration Races from 11.30 am to 13.30 pm, Car Performance Races from 2.00pm to 7.00 pm

9th October

- Pursuit Race from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm and Prize-giving Ceremony at 4.00 pm
