Nine electric Cars Ready for Italy

Four already for this year

Fotogallery "9 are the electric cars ready to roll on the Italian market by 2011" Fabio Orecchini , chief of the CIRPS Automotive Research Group Sapienza University of Rome reported during the meeting "Dealer and Communication" held by InterAutoNews, forecasting that within 2 years electric cars in Italy will account for about 5000 units.

This year should be the time for the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Smart Electric Drive, Citroen C-Zero and Peugeot Ion, all of them fully electric; also the Toyota Prius hybrid plug-in will join this group.

2011 will be the turn for Renault, likely to present two different models, for the Opel Ampera, the Chevrolet Volt and the Mercedes A-Class; also the Nissan Leaf is likely to be among them.
