BMW Concept ActiveE

Project of an entirely electric model based on 1 Series Coupe

In the route towards zero emission mobility the BMW Group is developing an electric motor set to become a further pillar of the BMW Efficient Dynamics programme.

Among the German carmaker’s excellent internal combustion models, ActiveHybrid cars and the Hydrogen 7 version, the electric motor represents a further option for motorists to go with sustainable mobility.

In this perspective BMW is introducing an entirely electric car based on the BMW 1 Series Coupe, called Concept ActiveE.

The BMW Concept ActiveE is equipped with a brand-new electric synchronous motor specifically designed for this model, it delivers 125Kw/170 hp and provides maximum torque of 250 Nm, available just from a standstill.

The storage of electric power is for the first time possible thanks to li-ion batteries specifically designed for this version by BMW in partnership with SB LiMotive.

BMW estimates the acceleration of the vehicles in less than 9 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, its maximum speed 145 km/h while its daily range is about 160 km, accounting the use of auxiliary systems such as the air-conditioning or heating of the windshield and rear window.
