Eco-solutions for company fleets

E-tools to monitor fuel consumption and emissions in real time

For company fleets fuel saving, at a time when the price of gasoline is 1.50 € per litre, is becoming a mission. GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services, the American giant’s specialised division, has just launched a European service to create an eco-friendly company park and take advantage of governments’ incentives.

Thanks to some electronics devices, it will be possible to monitor a company fleet’s CO2 emission levels, to collect data about the average level of each single vehicle and compare previous years’ ones as well as to plan renting contracts . The information will then be used to rank the greenest and the most polluting vehicles and ultimately to contribute to the improvement of the environmental impact. By means of an online software programme, comparisons, based on different criteria , such as the car’s fuel system, its number of cylinders, engine power, fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels, are made possible. These data enable the operators to see the amount of CO2 emissions to be spared and therefore to compare the performance of the cars in the fleet with possible eco-compatible alternatives, capable of achieving the targets set to reduce waste emissions.

Last of all, the service provides quotations and enables companies to make online orders of the vehicles chosen and helps them assess the costs of the eco-compatible models which may meet their requirements.
